I've been in the tech industry for over a decade. I've worked on all sorts of stuff; Tiny personal sites, massive enterprise apps that run credit checks, and plenty in between.
I've been paid in dollars, euros, and pounds along the way, so I've seen how things work in a few different corners of the world. I've also spent time teaching software skills to people who wouldn't otherwise get the chance, which is genuinely good for the soul.

They are often put together by a single person without a deep grasp of the fundamentals, leading to security issues and bugs that they can't solve. Or even understand.
We understand the technology at a fundamental level and we use mostly Python with JavaScript with a few premium design libraries we pay licenses for, to speed up the process.

Yes. It would be silly to reject AI as a tool to excelerate our workflow, so we use it in a careful ways. We never get it to generate entire projects, but we use it to help with checking copy and often use what's known as "AI-Assisted Development" techniques. We understand the technology we use and can easily review anything the AI generates.
Yes. The figure shown for each package is what you pay - design, hosting for year one, SSL, training, content, the lot. The only way it changes is if you ask for something not on the list (extra pages, a custom booking system, a logo redraw). We quote those in writing before any work starts.
Well, not to give away any trade secrets here, but we use servers that require a lot of setup that frankly other designers have no interest in dealing with. David has a number of professional years in the DevOps industry, so setting up these servers are a walk in the park for him.
No - and this is the bit everyone else makes you do. Copywriting is included up to a generous word limit on every package. We draft it from a 30-minute interview, you edit it. Most clients change about 10%.
It depends. This would be discussed during the 30 mins we spend with you. The websites we build are fully custom which makes them very good for Google, but if you did need to update the content yourself we can build this in relatively easily. The real question is - will you use it?
Starter: 2–3 weeks for the mock up. Standard: 3–5 weeks for that mock up. The slow bit is usually waiting on photos or feedback - once we have everything, the build is fast.
Brilliant - we usually transfer the domain over to us, but that's up to you. Hosting would be on our servers, we use a lot of Python and this can be tricky to host elsewhere. If you don't have a domain or hosting, we can handle that for you. Also if you prefer to own your domain on an account you control, we can buy and instantly transfer that over.
That's actually a great time to do a site - we can build it as you launch and get you on Google Business from day one.
Basic on-page SEO with OpenGraph image links and Google Business setup are included. We can get you set up on advertising platforms, but we generally don't run Ad campaigns on your behalf, hmmm, maybe if you twist my arm.
There isn't one. It's a 5-page site instead of 10, the content budget is smaller, and we use fast methods to get your website's look and feel to something that will hopefully resonate with your brand and customers. For a lot of trade and solo businesses that's exactly what's needed.
Yes. Every package has a 12-month split shown beside the headline price. No interest, no credit checks, no extra fees - we just spread it. 50% upfront / 50% on launch is the other option.
Honest answer: three reasons. (1) The price on the page is the price on the contract - not 'starting from'. (2) The copy gets written for you, which is usually where projects stall. (3) You're talking to the person who'll be designing, building and supporting the site, from the server to the frontend code - not a salesperson handing you off.
